Negotiations are an important feature of any business, either private or public. Negotiations are basically trying to reach an agreement or compromise between one, two, or more parties through discussions. In successful negotiations everyone wins. It is equally important to recognize that in all successful negotiations, the relations between the negotiating parties are preserved. African countries and business men and women are constantly engaged with their counterparts in negotiations in our increasingly globalized world.
The African Negotiations Initiative at the African Graduate School of Management and Leadership will bring scholars, politicians, policy makers and business men and women from around the world to undertake research that will enhance their negotiations skills as well as programmes at the school. Conferences and seminars will also be held on the issue and outcomes published.
